General Lighting & Power Distribution
Dedicated Power SuppliesAll appliances require power, and it is often straightforward to get power to them. Sometimes, a socket outlet from a local ring main is not sufficient for at least one of many reasons, and a dedicated supply is required. Such situations are our forte. We specialise in installations that don’t fall into the ‘rule of thumb’ category. Dedicated supplies are just one example of these installations.
Display LightingIf its worth seeing its worth seeing in the best light possible. Effective lighting is often just as important as the subject to be viewed. Almost anything can be lit to We have considerable experience in this field and are able to apply this experience in (almost) any environment. Décor LightingLight is an effective and extremely versatile tool for creating mood and expression. This can be done subtlety to suggest a particular mood or ambience or downright blatantly, demanding reaction. There are many possibilities that we would be pleased to discuss with you. Specialised Lighting
Much of lighting is about contrast glare and reflection. This is particularly important in the commercial workplace. The HSE requirement of 'Category 2' louvers in fluorescent fittings is one example of glare and reflection control. Creating ambience that is easy on the eye increases productivity and reduces strain. Emergency Lighting
Many premises are required to have some degree of emergency lighting. This requirement aside, it is often advantageous to have a standby emergency lighting system that can provide light in the event of a power failure or blown fuse (especially adjacent to the fuse board!). Strategically positioned emergency lighting can also minimise panic and injury, especially on staircases and exit routes. Lomax Electrical design, install, service and inspect emergency lighting to meet and exceed BS 5266. All our systems are designed and installed to allow the user to easily perform all the required periodic checks and maintenance. Security LightingSecurity issues are, in this day and age, always near the top of any agenda. Manufacturers are very much aware of this and there is a wide range of lights, detectors and sensors available, to suit most budgets. Thorough survey and experience is paramount when selecting security lighting as we have often found that badly positioned lighting and detectors have resulted in assisting and attracting thieves and vandals and actually provided working light for them. There are occasions when security lighting can have negative effects. We would rather turn down business than to undertake such work. |
